Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking engineering interns for the Waste and Groundwater Programs within Environmental, Health, and Safety. The internship offers real-world project work, mentorship, and exposure to regulatory and environmental compliance across multiple locations.

You will work on analytical data review, reports, and regulatory submittals, gaining hands-on experience with laboratory coordination and environmental projects.

Qualifications

Enrolled in ABET-accredited program in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
Must not graduate before August 2027.
GPA 2.75 or higher (3.2+ desirable).
Demonstrated technical proficiency with engineering tools and software.

Responsibilities

Assist environmental professionals with review and management of analytical and compliance data.
Prepare reports, plans, procedures, and regulatory submittals.
Evaluate monitoring results and coordinate with laboratories, site personnel, consultants, and regulators.
Support waste characterization, disposal activities, records reviews, and regulatory assessments.
Contribute to continuous-improvement initiatives.
