Job summary

Duke Energy is offering an internship in 2027 across our footprint, including Indiana. You’ll work with the Waste and Groundwater Programs group within Environmental, Health, and Safety, tackling real-world projects under experienced engineers.

Qualified students must be enrolled in ABET-accredited civil, chemical, or environmental programs, with a minimum 2.75 GPA and not graduating before August 2027. Hybrid/onsite arrangements and a housing stipend may be available.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in ABET-accredited program and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
• Must not graduate before August 2027 and maintain a GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Demonstrated ability to work on real-world projects and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist environmental professionals with data review, reports, and regulatory submittals.
• Support waste and groundwater program activities and coordination with teams.
• Contribute to project planning, procedures, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
