Job summary

Amazon is hiring an Area Manager in Illinois for a full-time, entry-level leadership role within one of our fulfillment centers. You will lead a team of hourly Associates across our Operations network, focusing on safety, quality, attendance and performance while receiving extensive training to become an exceptional people leader.

You will mentor and develop your team, ensuring they have the tools to succeed on the floor, and you will manage shifts that may include nights, weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree completed between May 2024 and August 2026 (must be met before first day).
• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and lead hourly associates.

Responsibilities

• Support, mentor and motivate 50-100 direct report Amazon Associates
• Work independently in an autonomous environment
• Stand/walk during shifts up to 12 hours
• Work shifts that include nights, weekends, and holidays (4-day work week common)
• Oversee truck deliveries, sort packages, operate PIT equipment when applicable
• Work in variable noise environments
• Lift up to 49 pounds and perform related physical duties
• Climb and descend stairs when applicable
