Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC in Illinois seeks a Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations, including receiving, putaway, picking, loading, and shipping, while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. You will supervise staff, enforce procedures, and coordinate with safety to maintain a compliant operation.

The role requires 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a redistribution center, familiarity with RF devices and WMS systems, and a focus on process improvement and cost control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or 3–5 years equivalent education/work experience in a distribution center.
• 3–5 years of warehouse supervisory experience in a redistribution/distribution center.
• Powered industrial truck certification is required within first 2 weeks of hire.
• Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with WMS-HighJump/PeopleSoft, Voice Recognition and RF devices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate and monitor daily activities and performance of warehouse workers to assure compliance with procedures, quality and safety.
• Ensure quality performance through staffing, communication, and training.
• Manage employee performance through motivation, delegation, development, mentoring and resolving conflict.
• Take corrective action as necessary following company policy.
• Lead pre-shift meetings to discuss changes, policies and procedures; address employee concerns.
• Participate in staff selection, performance and compensation evaluations.
• Review warehouse procedures and modify structure to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Monitor departmental expenses; provide resources to daily activities.
• Suggest and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, safety and quality while reducing costs.
• Enforce all policies including safety and housekeeping through daily practices.
• Maintain productivity and safety reports and logs.
• Provide a clean and safe working environment and promote safety through toolbox talks.
• Coordinate with safety department for training and incident investigations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
