Job summary

Hy-Vee at the Lomar Distribution Center is seeking a Warehouse Generalist to perform heavy lifting, order selection, and palletizing for shipment to retail stores. The role relies on voice automated selection and pick-to-light systems to ensure accurate, efficient order fulfillment.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, plus certification to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and stock picker. You will work in a fast-paced warehouse with strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must meet language and hearing requirements for voice automated selection.
• Must follow one or two-step instructions; routine, repetitive task.
• Must be able to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers.
• Upon certification, safely operate single and double pallet jacks, forklift, and stock picker.

Responsibilities

• Reports to work on schedule and on time.
• Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines.
• Selects orders via voice automated system and palletizes merchandise for shipment.
• Prepares orders using pick-to-light system as needed.
• Verifies pallet stability and applies shrink wrap for shipment.
• Stages orders with correct pallet IDs for loading.
• Performs daily safety inspections of power equipment.
• Maintains a clean work area and attends meetings.
