Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Warehouse Generalist, Heavy Lifting, at the Lomar Distribution Center in Iowa. The role involves selecting and stacking merchandise on pallets for shipment using voice-activated and pick-to-light systems, palletizing and staging orders for delivery.

Responsibilities include operating pallet jacks and other equipment, ensuring pallet stability, performing safety inspections, and maintaining a clean work area.

Qualifications

• Must be able to meet language and hearing capabilities for voice automated selection.
• Must be able to follow one or two-step instructions; routine, repetitive task.
• Must be able to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division involving whole numbers.
• Upon certification, must safely operate pallet jacks, forklift, and stock picker.

Responsibilities

• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
• Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines.
• Responsible for accurately selecting orders via a voice automated selection system and safely palletizing merchandise for shipment to assigned stores, ensuring the product does not become damaged.
• Prepares orders including accurately selecting ordered items via pick-to-light selection system, as needed.
• Verifies pallet is stable and shrink-wraps pallet.
• Accurately applies pallet ID and stages selected order to be loaded in assigned area for delivery.
• Performs daily safety inspection of power equipment.
• Keeps work environment clean and neat by sweeping and picking up cardboard, plastic wrap, and totes.
• Attends departmental and company meetings.
