Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Warehouse Generalist for the Lomar Distribution Center. You will select and palletize merchandise for shipment to retail stores using voice automated and pick-to-light systems. You must keep pallets stable, apply IDs, and ensure safe handling throughout the process.

The role requires attention to safety, adherence to policies, and the ability to perform basic math and operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and stock pickers. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to meet the language and hearing capabilities for voice automated selection.
• Must be able to follow one or two-step instructions; routine, repetitive task.
• Must be able to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division involving whole numbers.

Responsibilities

• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
• Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines.
• Responsible for accurately and timely selecting orders via a voice automated selection system and safely palletizing merchandise for shipment to assigned stores, ensuring the product does not become damaged.
• Prepares orders including accurately selecting ordered items via pick-to-light selection system, as needed.
• Verifies pallet is stable and shrink-wraps pallet.
• Accurately applies pallet ID and stages selected order to be loaded in assigned area for delivery.
• Performs daily safety inspection of power equipment.
• Keeps work environment clean and neat by sweeping and picking up cardboard, plastic wrap, and totes.
• Attends departmental and company meetings.
• Breaks down master cases and stages product.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
