Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive continuous improvement across operations using data-driven CI, engineering, and automation to boost safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.

The role interfaces with all levels of the organization and may manage CI resources under the CI Manager. Responsibilities include leading high-impact CI projects, coaching teams on Lean and QA principles, and delivering sustenance through Kaizen events and Value Stream Mapping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain and 7+ years in Warehousing/Transportation/Manufacturing; or Master’s with 5+ years.
• 7+ years in Warehousing & Transportation and/or Manufacturing.
• Microsoft Office Suite with Excel/Access/PowerPoint; Visio.
• PowerBI/Tableau data visualization; SQL/DAX knowledge (preferred).
• Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S.
• Core engineering and data analysis: slotting, labor planning, layouts, metrics.
• Experience with CAD/Automation tools and warehouse management systems.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; documents processes; identifies gaps and implements CI plans.
• Manages high-impact CI projects; supports startups, retrofits, expansions; coordinates with account management.
• Coaches employees on CI, QA, and Lean principles; applies lean tools to improve operations.
• May supervise CI engineering and quality professionals; participate in hiring and performance management.
• Facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events; sustains improvements across functions.
• Reports progress against site objectives; recommends inventory and supply chain strategies.
