Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead CI Engineer to drive continuous improvement across our operations. You will apply data analytics, Lean tools and engineering methods to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth.

The role interfaces with all levels and may manage CI resources, reporting to the CI Manager. You will lead cross-functional projects, coach teams in lean techniques, and deliver measurable results through Kaizen events and Value Stream Mapping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field with 7+ years in warehousing, transportation or manufacturing
• 7+ years in related warehousing, transportation and/or manufacturing experience
• Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio (Expert)
• Data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX) (Intermediate)
• Proficiency in Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems and PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S (Intermediate)
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge (Required)
• CPM P, ISO/QMS (Preferred) and APICS/Supply Chain certs (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps processes and identifies gaps
• Leads high-impact CI projects and supports startups, retrofits and expansions
• Coaches on lean methods, facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events
• Supervises CI engineers and QA professionals, participates in hiring decisions
• Delivers regular progress reports and makes supply chain recommendations
• Applies advanced engineering and data analysis in slotting, labor planning and layouts
