Job summary

The Ryder Continuous Improvement program seeks a Lead Engineer to drive CI across our operations using data analytics, Lean methods, and automation to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You will lead change, coach teams, and coordinate CI resources under the CI Manager.

You will lead cross-functional projects, facilitate Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events, and deliver tangible results with ongoing reporting to site leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's with warehousing/transportation/manufacturing experience.
• 7+ years in warehousing/transportation or manufacturing.
• Advanced Excel/Access/PowerPoint & Visio experience.
• PowerBI/Tableau data visualization and SQL knowledge.
• Leader Standard Work, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S experience.
• Core engineering/data analysis: slotting, labor planning, layouts, metrics.
• WMS and automation knowledge; CAD and slotting tools helpful.
• Lean Six Sigma, cPMP and APICS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps processes and identifies gaps.
• Leads high-impact CI projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.
• Coaches employees in CI, QA, and Lean principles; mentors teams.
• May supervise CI engineers and participate in hiring and performance.
• Facilitates Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events; sustains improvements.
• Delivers regular reports and recommends inventory/supply chain strategies.
• Designs and maintains QMS; supports regulatory compliance and corrective actions.
