Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive continuous improvement across operations. The role focuses on data-driven CI, engineering, and automation to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.

You will leverage data analytics and lean tools to identify root causes and implement solutions. This high-influence position interfaces with employees at all levels, may manage CI resources, and reports to the CI Manager/Sr.

Qualifications

• Experience applying continuous improvement methods.
• Strong data analytics and problem solving.
• Experience leading CI projects.
• Knowledge of lean principles and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; maps and documents processes and identifies gaps to improve performance.
• Manages high-impact CI projects across operations and supports start-ups, retrofits, expansions and automation initiatives.
• Demonstrates competency in engineering methods, Lean tools, and quality standards; coaches others in CI, QA and lean principles.
• May supervise CI engineers and QA professionals; participates in hiring decisions and performance management.
• Facilitates Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events through all stages and sustains improvements.
• Provides regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against site objectives.
