Job summary

Sorenson Communications is expanding our Video Relay Service (VRS). We are seeking Interpreters to provide Sign-to-Voice and Voice-to-Sign interpreting services. Full and part-time positions are available in the US and in Canada.

Columbus, Ohio-based role with shifts Mon-Sat, 7am-7pm MT. Benefits include CEUs, licensure reimbursement up to 100% based on hours, 401K, no scripts, and nationwide opportunities within Sorenson centers across the US and Canada.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Interpreter certification as required by local regulations.
• 3 years’ interpreting experience preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Interpret between ASL and spoken English.
• Maintain licensure/certification compliance as applicable.
• Comply with Sorenson standards and FCC regulations and RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• Adhere to Sorenson attendance policy.
• Complete tasks, projects and paperwork promptly within guidelines.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet VRS industry demands.
• Learn and implement new technologies quickly.
• Work effectively in a team environment and support colleagues.
• Work under oversight including call monitoring, mentoring and evaluations.
• Engage in ongoing education to enhance interpreting skills.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.
