Job summary

Sorenson Communications is expanding its Video Relay Service (VRS) and seeks interpreters to provide Sign-to-Voice and Voice-to-Sign services. Full and part-time positions available in the US and Canada.

Interpreters will interpret between ASL and spoken English, comply with licensure requirements, and adhere to company standards and regulatory rules. The role offers flexible shifts, certification opportunities, and a company-wide network.

Qualifications

• ASL knowledge and interpreting abilities required.
• Pass required skills assessment.
• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Interpreter certification may be required by local regulations.
• 3 years’ interpreter experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret between ASL and spoken English.
• Maintain licensure/certification requirements as applicable.
• Comply with Sorenson standards, FCC regulations, RID Code of Professional Conduct.
• Adhere to attendance policy and workplace guidelines.
• Complete tasks promptly within approved guidelines.
• Maintain flexible schedule to meet VRS demands.
• Learn and implement new technologies.
• Collaborate with team and provide/receive support.
• Work under supervision including call monitoring and mentoring.
• Operate in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
• Pursue continued education to enhance interpreting skills.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.
