Job summary

Sorenson Communications is expanding our Video Relay Service (VRS). We are seeking Interpreters to provide Sign-to-Voice and Voice-to-Sign interpreting services, with full- and part-time positions available across the US and Canada.

The successful candidate will interpret between ASL and spoken English, maintain licensure requirements, and adhere to FCC and RID codes. Flexible hours and ongoing training support a dynamic, highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Interpreter certification as required by local regulations.
• 3 years’ interpreting experience preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, regulated, customer-service environment.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools and to handle other computer components.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Effectively interpret between ASL and spoken English.
• Maintain compliance with licensure/certification requirements.
• Comply with Sorenson standards, FCC regulations and RID Code of Conduct.
• Comply with attendance policy.
• Complete tasks and paperwork promptly within guidelines.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to meet VRS industry demands.
• Learn and implement new technologies quickly.
• Work effectively in a team and collaborate with colleagues.
• Adapt to oversight including call monitoring and evaluations.
• Improve interpreting skills through continued education.
