Job summary

Sorenson Communications is expanding our Video Relay Service (VRS). We are seeking Interpreters to provide Sign-to-Voice and Voice-to-Sign interpreting services.

Full and part-time positions are available in the US and in Canada. Responsibilities include interpreting between ASL and spoken English, meeting licensure requirements, adhering to Sorenson standards and FCC regulations, and maintaining flexible schedules to support 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Pass required skills assessment.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Interpreter certification as required by local regulations.
• 3 years’ experience preferred, not required.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-service focused environment.
• Dexterity to operate computer hardware and software.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Interpret between ASL and spoken English.
• Maintain compliance with licensure and certification requirements.
• Adhere to Sorenson standards, FCC regulations, and RID Code of Conduct.
• Follow attendance policies.
• Complete tasks, projects, and paperwork promptly within guidelines.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to meet VRS demands.
• Learn and implement new technologies.
• Collaborate with team members and support colleagues.
• Participate in ongoing training and education.
