Job summary

Affirm is seeking a strategic VP, People Business Partners & Employee Relations to lead our global PBP and ER functions. This role partners with the CPO, PLT, and XLT to shape enterprise-wide people and organizational decisions.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive People leadership experience.
• Experience leading a global PBP organization.
• Experience leading Employee Relations including sensitive investigations and executive matters.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with C-suite executives.
• Expertise in organizational consulting, executive coaching, and strategic workforce planning.
• Strong business acumen and learning agility.
• Sharp talent judgment for executive decisions.
• Ability to anticipate risks and opportunities across the organization.
• Executive presence and emotional intelligence for challenging conversations.

Responsibilities

• Define strategy, structure, and operating model for global PBP and ER functions.
• Build high-performing PBP and ER teams through talent decisions, development, and coaching.
• Establish trusted relationships with XLT members as strategic advisor on leadership and organizational decisions.
• Develop understanding of affirm's business to anticipate organizational implications.
• Partner with XLT on workforce strategy and deployment of talent, leveraging AI and new operating models.
• Design organizations and operating models that clarify accountability and align resources with priorities.
• Raise leadership quality through talent planning, succession, and performance management.
• Guide leaders through organizational change to sustain outcomes.
• Set strategy and operating model for Employee Relations globally.
• Provide executive oversight on complex ER matters and investigations.
• Use ER data to identify risks and improve leadership effectiveness and business performance.
• Collaborate with Legal on employment practices, policy, and risk management.
