Job summary

Affirm is seeking a VP, People Business Partners & Employee Relations to lead our global PBP and ER functions. You will partner with the CPO, PLT, and XLT to shape enterprise-wide people and organizational decisions, building high-performing teams and setting standards for execution.

You will anticipate workforce implications, design scalable operating models, and collaborate with Legal to manage risk while driving business performance in a remote-first environment across the United States.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive People leadership experience in global tech organizations.
• Experience leading a global PBP organization and building high-performing teams.
• Experience leading Employee Relations, including investigations and executive matters with Legal.
• Proven ability to partner with C-suite executives, maintaining independent judgment.
• Deep expertise in organizational consulting, organizational effectiveness, executive coaching, and strategic workforce planning.
• Strong business acumen and learning agility to understand complex businesses.
• Sharp talent judgment for assessing executive capability and critical decisions.
• Ability to anticipate organizational and workforce risks and opportunities across the business.
• Outstanding executive presence and emotional intelligence for challenging conversations.
• Sound judgment balancing business needs with legal/reputational risk.

Responsibilities

• Define strategy, structure, and operating model for global PBP and ER functions.
• Build high-performing PBP and ER teams through talent decisions and development.
• Develop trusted relationships with XLT members as strategic advisor.
• Understand affirm's business to anticipate organizational implications ahead of need.
• Partner on workforce strategy, deploying talent and leveraging AI and new models.
• Design organizations and operating models to clarify accountability and speed.
• Raise leadership quality through talent planning, succession, and performance management.
• Guide leaders through major organizational change and execution discipline.
• Set strategy and model for Employee Relations globally with consistency.
• Oversee complex ER matters, including executive investigations and conduct matters.
• Use ER data to identify risks and drive proactive leadership improvements.
• Collaborate with Legal on employment practices, policy, and risk.
