Job summary

Affirm, a remote-first company, seeks a leader to head global People Business Partners and Employee Relations. The role influences enterprise-wide talent decisions, organizational design, and leadership development across the company.

You will partner with the CPO and XLT, shaping workforce strategy, implementing scalable ER practices, and guiding major organizational changes to propel Affirm's mission. Strong executive presence is essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive People leadership experience in global technology organizations.
• Experience leading a global PBP organization and building high-performing PBP teams.
• Experience leading Employee Relations, including sensitive investigations and executive-level matters in partnership with Legal.
• Demonstrated experience partnering directly with C-suite executives, building trust while maintaining independent judgment.
• Deep expertise in organizational consulting, organizational effectiveness, executive coaching, and strategic workforce planning.
• Strong business acumen and learning agility, with the ability to understand complex businesses quickly.
• Sharp talent judgment and the ability to assess executive capability and advise on talent decisions.
• Ability to anticipate organizational and workforce risks and opportunities before they become obvious.
• Outstanding executive presence and emotional intelligence, with the ability to challenge constructively.
• Sound judgment balancing business needs, employee impact, and legal/reputational risk.

Responsibilities

• Define the strategy, structure, and operating model for global PBP and ER functions and redesign roles and capabilities as needed.
• Build high-performing PBP and ER teams through talent decisions, development, coaching, and selective external hiring.
• Develop trusted relationships with XLT members, advising on enterprise-wide leadership, talent, and organizational decisions.
• Develop a deep understanding of affirm's business and operating model to anticipate implications for workforce and talent.
• Partner with XLT on workforce strategy, including size, composition, and deployment of talent; leverage technology and new operating models.
• Help leaders design organizations and operating models that clarify accountability and align resources with top priorities.
• Raise leadership quality through talent planning, succession, executive assessment, and performance management.
• Guide leaders through organizational change to sustain business outcomes.
• Set strategy and operating model for Employee Relations globally, ensuring consistency and scalability.
• Provide executive oversight on complex ER matters, investigations, and conduct issues.
• Use ER data to identify risks and translate into proactive actions improving leadership and organizational health.
• Partner with Legal on employment practices, policy, and risk management.
