Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Vice President, Outside Counsel Value Manager to shape pricing, budgeting, and value delivery for external counsel across the Legal function.

You will lead pricing strategy, matter budgeting, and negotiations with law firms, scaling capabilities through GenAI-enabled tools while partnering with senior stakeholders to drive measurable outcomes and strategic alignment across portfolios.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a law firm, corporation, or professional services.
• Experience supporting partners, senior lawyers, and/or executive leaders in a matrixed organization.
• Ability to influence and deliver with authority to senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication with executive-ready analyses.
• Strong analytical, commercial judgment, and pricing/matter budgeting experience.
• Experience with legal pricing, pricing analytics, and AI technologies.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint with executive storytelling and data visualization.

Responsibilities

• Translate financial and matter performance into executive-ready recommendations.
• Develop pricing strategies, matter budgets, and fee arrangements across portfolios.
• Lead negotiations with external law firms on terms and staffing.
• Evaluate AI impact on pricing, profitability, staffing, and service delivery.
• Drive adoption of AI-enabled pricing tools for forecasting and staffing models.
• Collaborate on GenAI and legal transformation initiatives across functions.
• Deliver training to strengthen pricing, scoping, budgeting, and analysis.
• Monitor pricing trends and governance to improve strategy.
• Influence senior leadership priorities aligning spend with outcomes.
• Manage multiple concurrent workstreams with disciplined execution.
