Job summary

JPMorganChase is hiring a Vice President, Outside Counsel Value Manager to shape pricing, budgeting, and analytics across legal matters. You will partner with senior leaders to develop pricing strategies, budgets, and AFAs, while negotiating with external law firms and scaling capabilities through GenAI-enabled tools.

The role focuses on driving modern pricing, scoping, and matter analytics across portfolios, with direct visibility to senior legal leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in law firm, corporation, or professional services.
• Experience supporting partners, senior lawyers, and executive leaders in a matrixed org.
• Ability to influence executives, build credibility, and deliver with authority.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication for exec-ready analyses.
• Strong analytical and commercial judgment in matter budgeting, pricing, and fee arrangements.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity and complexity in fast-evolving environments.
• Strong program and stakeholder management across multiple workstreams.
• Familiarity with legal pricing, pricing tools, and AI technologies in legal contexts.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint with executive storytelling and data visualization.

Responsibilities

• Advise senior legal leaders and business stakeholders with pricing insights and executive-ready recommendations.
• Develop pricing strategies, matter budgets, and appropriate fee arrangements across portfolios.
• Lead negotiations with external law firms to align terms, staffing, and value outcomes.
• Evaluate AI impact on pricing, profitability, staffing, and service delivery for forward-looking frameworks.
• Drive adoption of AI-enabled pricing tools to improve forecasting and staffing models.
• Collaborate on GenAI and legal transformation initiatives across Legal, Finance, and Legal Technology.
• Provide training and change management to strengthen pricing, scoping, budgeting, and analysis capabilities.
• Monitor market pricing trends to improve pricing strategy and governance.
• Influence senior leadership priorities by aligning spend impact with measurable outcomes.
• Manage multiple concurrent workstreams with disciplined execution and clear priorities.
