Job summary

Kimmel & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead day-to-day operations across project management, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, delivery, and installation.

The role involves shaping processes, driving profitability, and building leadership talent. The ideal candidate has deep experience in engineered-to-order manufacturing and excels at aligning multiple departments to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in architectural millwork, commercial casework, or project-driven manufacturing.
• Experience leading multiple operational functions (PM, engineering, production, field execution).
• Strong understanding of engineered-to-order manufacturing and cross-department coordination.
• Experience with P&L, budgeting, and operational financial analysis.
• Proven ability to improve throughput, utilization, schedule performance, quality, and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Align project management, engineering, procurement, production, delivery, and installation around shared priorities and performance goals.
• Improve project management processes from award to closeout focusing on scheduling, cost control, and profitability.
• Strengthen workflows between engineering and manufacturing and improve production readiness.
• Increase throughput, optimize capacity planning, and strengthen quality control.
• Improve installation planning, site readiness, and delivery coordination while protecting margins.
• Partner with President and Finance to enhance gross margins, profitability, and working capital.
• Lead evaluation and implementation of ERP and other operating systems to improve visibility and decision-making.
• Develop employees, strengthen management accountability, and build an independent leadership team.
• Support key accounts and ensure new business aligns with capacity and profitability objectives.
