Job summary

Akebia Therapeutics in Cambridge, MA is seeking a senior leader to build and manage a high-performing team of account managers and directors focused on expanding sales opportunities within dialysis organizations.

You will be accountable for achieving sales goals, developing growth strategies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring optimal access and reimbursement. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with commercial, legal, medical affairs, and compliance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• 15+ years’ account management experience with dialysis organization customers.
• Established relationships with dialysis customers.
• 3+ years on a commercial leadership team.
• Clinical, technical and scientific knowledge in complex disease state.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team of account managers and directors to expand sales opportunities across dialysis organizations.
• Negotiate contracts and promotional programs with dialysis organizations.
• Develop and implement account-specific strategies and quarterly/annual OKRs.
• Ensure optimal access to Akebia products within assigned accounts and monitor reimbursement knowledge.
• Communicate issues and opportunities to senior management and board when needed.
• Coordinate with commercial, legal and compliance teams on contracting strategy and execution.
