Job summary

Akebia Therapeutics is seeking a National Account Manager to develop and execute strategic plans with dialysis organizations, LDOs/MDOs and large nephrology groups. You will build partnerships, drive adoption of Vafseo, and align clinical and economic value with regional executives.

The role focuses on expanding access, coordinating with Medical Affairs, and delivering compelling data to customers, while traveling up to half the time across the U.S.

Qualifications

• BA/BS required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Renal or similar therapeutic space.
• Proven track record of effective account management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute national and regional account strategies.
• Drive Vafseo access across dialysis organizations and support adoption.
• Lead quarterly business reviews with Regional VPs or executives.
• Collaborate with LDO/MDO RVPs/Area Directors and RQMs and LGPs.
• Support Regional Medical Director and physician programs.
• Communicate clinical, economic, and operational data to customers clearly.
• Advocate for Vafseo utilization through strategic programs.
• Maintain key customer profiles and evolving affiliations in accounts.
• Coordinate with Medical Affairs to educate customers and support initiatives.
• Analyze data and distill insights into impactful presentations.
• Work with Legal, Regulatory and Compliance on communication strategies.
• Coordinate with internal teams to implement strategic initiatives.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the U.S.
