Job summary

Affirm is seeking a visionary VP, People Business Partners & Employee Relations to lead our global PBP and ER functions. You will partner with the CPO, PLT, and XLT to shape enterprise-wide people strategy and operating models that support affirm’s ambitious growth.

You will build and coach high-performing teams, guide leadership through organizational change, and ensure fair, scalable ER practices worldwide.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive people leadership experience in global technology organizations
• Experience leading a global PBP organization and building high-performing PBP teams
• Experience leading Employee Relations, including sensitive investigations and executive-level matters in partnership with Legal
• Demonstrated ability to partner directly with C-suite executives, building trust while maintaining independent judgment
• Deep expertise in organizational consulting, organizational effectiveness, executive coaching, and strategic workforce planning
• Strong business acumen and learning agility, with the ability to quickly understand complex businesses and form an independent point of view
• Sharp talent judgment, with the ability to assess executive capability and advise on consequential talent decisions
• Ability to anticipate organizational and workforce risks and opportunities before they become obvious
• Outstanding executive presence and emotional intelligence, with the ability to challenge constructively
• Sound judgment and integrity in navigating sensitive people decisions, balancing business needs, employee impact, and legal/reputational risk

Responsibilities

• Define the strategy and operating model for global PBP and ER functions.
• Build high-performing PBP and ER teams through talent decisions, development, coaching, and selective external hiring.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to XLT on enterprise-wide leadership, talent, and organizational decisions.
• Develop understanding of affirm's business to anticipate implications and guide leadership.
• Partner with XLT on workforce strategy, talent deployment, and leveraging technology/AI.
• Help leaders design organizations with clear accountability and aligned resources.
• Raise leadership quality through talent planning, succession, and performance management.
• Guide leaders through major organizational change and execution discipline.
• Set the strategy and operating model for Employee Relations globally.
• Provide executive oversight on sensitive ER matters and investigations.
• Use ER data to identify risks and translate into proactive actions.
• Partner with Legal on employment practices and risk management
