Job summary

Affirm is seeking a VP, People Business Partners & Employee Relations to lead global PBP and ER functions. You will partner with the CPO, PLT, and XLT to shape enterprise-wide people decisions and operating models.

You will build top-tier PBP/ER teams, advise senior leaders, and align workforce strategy with business goals while leveraging AI to increase impact and efficiency. Remote-first with strong leadership expectations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive People leadership experience in complex, global tech organizations.
• Significant experience leading a global PBP organization and building high-performing teams.
• Experience leading Employee Relations, including investigations and executive-level matters, with Legal partnership.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with C-suite executives and maintain independent judgment.
• Expertise in organizational consulting, organizational effectiveness, and strategic workforce planning.
• Strong business acumen and learning agility to understand complex businesses quickly.
• Sharp talent judgment and ability to advise on senior leadership decisions.
• Ability to anticipate organizational risks and opportunities by connecting patterns across the business.
• Executive presence and emotional intelligence with constructive challenging of leaders.
• Sound integrity in navigating sensitive people decisions and legal risk.

Responsibilities

• Define strategy, structure, and operating model for global PBP and ER functions.
• Build high-performing PBP and ER teams through talent decisions, coaching, and selective external hiring.
• Serve as strategic advisor to XLT on enterprise-wide leadership and talent decisions.
• Develop deep understanding of affirm's business to anticipate workforce implications.
• Partner with XLT on workforce strategy, including deployment of talent and use of AI.
• Help leaders design organizations that clarify accountability and accelerate execution.
• Raise leadership quality through talent planning, executive assessment, and performance management.
• Guide leaders through organizational change to sustain business outcomes.
• Set strategy and operating model for Employee Relations globally.
• Provide executive oversight on complex ER matters and investigations.
• Use ER data to identify risks and drive proactive leadership improvements.
• Partner with Legal on employment practices, policy, and risk management.
