Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Ohio is seeking a CDL bus driver to transport public school students to and from LifeWise sites. The ideal candidate is responsible, punctual, and maintains a clean driving record while modeling a mature Christian faith in line with our beliefs.

Responsibilities include safe vehicle operation, adherence to laws, regular bus inspections, student supervision, and assisting students entering/exiting.

Qualifications

• CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement (P) required.
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years.
• Background check required; drug and/or alcohol testing performed.
• Active church involvement and faith alignment with LifeWise beliefs.
• Age 21–80; driver above 75 must submit CDL license and (P) annually.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children.
• Enforce safety rules for students.
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle as needed.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor.
• Be aware of which students need help or are misbehaving.
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the director.
