Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Ohio is seeking a LifeWise CDL bus driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site. The ideal candidate is responsible, punctual, and maintains a clean driving record.

Responsibilities include transporting students, obeying traffic laws, inspecting and maintaining the bus, refueling, and creating a calm, caring environment while enforcing safety rules.

Qualifications

• CDL driver's license with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) required
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred
• Age 21-80, with annual submission for CDL license proof if over 75
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in last five years
• Background check and drug/alcohol testing required
• Annual Physician's Statement for medical conditions as needed

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain bus cleanliness and mechanical safety
• Perform regular bus inspections
• Refuel as needed
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children
• Enforce safety rules for students
• Assist students entering/exiting the vehicle
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor
• Identify students needing help or misbehavior
• Complete LifeWise Academy training
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if agreed with director
