Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Ohio is seeking a CDL bus driver to provide safe transportation for public school students to and from LifeWise sites. The ideal candidate is responsible, punctual, and maintains a clean driving record.

Responsibilities include transporting children and volunteers, obeying traffic laws, keeping the bus clean and safe, performing inspections, refueling, and creating a calm, caring environment. Background checks and FMCSA Clearinghouse checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must profess a mature Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in a local church aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• CDL driver's license with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) required.
• Age 21–80 (75+ requires annual submission of CDL license and Passenger Endorsement).
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in the last five years.
• Background check through LifeWise Academy.
• Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and FMCSA Clearinghouse check required.
• Complete drug and/or alcohol testing as required.
• Annual Physician's Statement for drivers with medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Enforce safety rules for students and assist with entering/exiting.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor.
• Be aware of students who need help or are misbehaving.
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the director.
