Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced VMware and Windows Server Administrator to provide operational support for the enterprise environment, covering VMware vSphere, Windows Server, and related infrastructure to ensure stability and performance.

The position follows an 8-5 ET schedule with a 24/7 on-call rotation, requiring strong collaboration, PowerShell automation, and clear documentation of configurations and changes.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 12 years with a HS diploma.
• Hands-on compute infra experience: physical, virtual (VMware), and cloud environments; VMware vSphere support.
• Windows Server OS experience.
• Experience with VMware vSphere, Windows OS, and VMware vRealize Suite.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for supported systems.
• Strong cross-functional troubleshooting and communication skills.
• 8 years of PowerShell scripting for automation in Windows and VMware environments.
• Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, recommend, and implement changes to existing technologies and new technologies relevant to meeting organizational plans.
• Maintain virtualization infrastructure including provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, automation, and maintenance.
• Maintain environment stability via regular hardware/software patching and upgrades.
• Ensure compliance of all hardware, equipment, and configurations.
