Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a part-time Tourist Information Counselor to support visitors at the Delaware County Welcome Center. You will assist travelers, provide directions, lodging details, and PA attractions information.

The role includes opening/closing the center, maintaining displays, and compiling daily reports. You will engage in outreach activities with tourism agencies and respond to routine issues, ensuring accurate visitor information while following safety procedures.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in work involving public contact; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Ability to work in Delaware County PennDOT Welcome Center location.
• On-call availability from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, seven days a week.
• Front-facing public contact experience.
• Experience working with computers.
• Experience answering phones, composing emails, compiling reports, tracking office activities and inventory, entering data, and filing.

Responsibilities

• Welcome travelers with directions, lodging information, and PA attractions details.
• Participate in outreach activities and partnerships with tourism agencies.
• Open/close the Welcome Center and maintain displays and stock materials.
• Prepare daily reports and maintain visitor information inventories.
• Respond to issues, contact appropriate personnel, and resolve routine concerns.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards.
