Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania invites applications for a part-time, on-call Tourist Information Counselor at the Delaware County Welcome Center. You will welcome travelers, answer questions, provide resources, and support tourism efforts to ensure smooth operations.

Shifts vary; on-call hours range from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM seven days a week, with current hours 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Telework is not available. Training and public contact experience are valued.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in work involving public contact, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must be willing to work in Delaware County PennDOT Welcome Center and be on-call 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, seven days a week.
• Ability to report to work within 1 hour of being called.
• Front-facing public contact experience and experience with computers, phones, emails, reports, inventory, data entry.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist travelers with directions, lodging information, and Pennsylvania attractions.
• Participate in tourism outreach activities and partnerships with tourism agencies.
• Open/close Welcome Center, maintain displays, stock materials, and keep the facility orderly.
• Prepare daily reports, update literature inventories, and maintain visitor information records.
• Respond to routine issues, contact appropriate personnel, and resolve concerns.
• Follow safety procedures and stay alert to protect staff and visitors.
