Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a part-time Tourist Information Counselor to welcome travelers at the Delaware County PennDOT Welcome Center. You will provide directions, lodging and attraction details, and support tourism outreach while helping maintain smooth center operations.

The role requires front-facing public contact experience and the ability to work on-call between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, seven days a week, with flexibility in hours. Telework is not available.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in work involving public contact.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Assist travelers with directions, lodging information, and Pennsylvania attractions details.
• Participate in outreach activities and partnerships with tourism agencies.
• Open and close the Welcome Center, maintain displays, stock materials, and keep the facility orderly.
• Prepare daily reports, update literature inventories, and maintain visitor information.
• Respond to unexpected issues, contact appropriate personnel, and resolve routine concerns.
• Follow safety procedures, report hazards, and stay alert to protect staff and visitors.
