Job summary

Ohio History Connection is seeking a Visitor Operations Associate to support the Ohio History Center and Ohio Village in Columbus, handling guest services, admissions, memberships, and event support. This intermittent, part-time role emphasizes hospitality, program knowledge, and collaborative teamwork.

The position involves greeting visitors, guiding them through exhibits, and assisting with school groups, while maintaining safety procedures and professional service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus one to three years of customer service and/or sales experience.
• 6+ months of combined experience working with the general public (ex. retail, reception, front desk work, food service, etc.)
• Experience interacting with school-aged children.
• Strong communication and computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; email proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and orient visitors to exhibit spaces and events.
• Sell merchandise, food, admission and memberships.
• Direct event setups and teardowns and manage reservations.
• Provide information and assistance with a professional image for the Ohio History Connection.
• Coordinate volunteers and assist with school group orientations and logistics.
• Start up museum interactives in the mornings and assist with safety procedures.
