Job summary

The Brooklyn Museum is seeking a part-time Visitor Experience Floor Captain to lead and support floor staff, greet visitors, manage ticketing and Coat Check, and handle phone/email inquiries. The role emphasizes empathy, policy enforcement, and collaborative teamwork within a world-renowned cultural institution.

Primary duties include supervising floor operations, assisting the Associate Manager, and ensuring a welcoming, safe, and informative experience for all guests.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 28 hours per week.
• Friday, Saturday and Sunday are mandatory days.
• Part-time schedule with potential additional hours for events.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and members, provide exhibition and policy information.
• Sell and scan tickets and manage lines at front desk.
• Supervise and support Visitor Experience Associates on floor and in office tasks.
• Oversee Coat Check operations and equipment check-in/out.
• Support scheduling, updates, and training materials for the team.
• Respond to inquiries via phone and email regarding exhibitions and events.
