Job summary

MyEyeDr. in Maryland is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry with patient preparation, preliminary testing, and measurements. No optical experience required; training will be provided to learn pretest equipment and visual screenings. Some weekend and evening shifts may be required.

You will help ensure a smooth patient flow, document medical history, and assist with contact lens training as needed, contributing to a best-in-class patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; basic math skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
• Personable and patient with patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, products and services.
• Collaborative team player focused on best patient experience.
• Prior healthcare/optical background preferred but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, accurately document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history to prep for Optometrist exam
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and additional office staff throughout appointment
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures to which they will be exposed during appointment
• Through company training learn to use all pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings for patients prior to visiting with the doctor
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experience
