Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to provide direct support to our Doctors of Optometry. You will assist in preparing patients for visits, including preliminary testing and measurements.

Training and tools are provided, even if you have no prior optical experience. Some weekend and evening shifts are required. The role reports to the Office General Manager and involves supporting your Doctor(s) to ensure a best-in-class patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math.
• Personable and patient, able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, product, and services.
• Collaborative team player delivering the best patient experience.
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document existing conditions and complaints, and chart medical history for Optometrist exam prep.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to Doctor and staff during appointments.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with procedures they will experience.
• Learn to use pretest equipment for a range of visual screenings before the doctor visit.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients and other preliminary testing.
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team for a seamless patient experience.
