Job summary

MyEyeDr. is seeking an Optometric Technician to support Doctors of Optometry by preparing patients for visits, performing preliminary tests and measurements. Training will be provided, even if you have no optical experience, to help you deliver a best-in-class experience for our patients.

You will work under the Office General Manager and directly support the Doctor(s). Some weekend and evening shifts are required as part of this role, with opportunities to grow through role-specific training

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with the ability to understand/do basic math.
• Personable, patient and able to comfort patients during screening.
• Detail oriented and able to work closely with the Optometrist.
• Willingness to learn about industry, product, and services.
• Collaborative team player to provide best patient experience.
• Healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients, document existing conditions and medical history to prep for Optometrist exam.
• Maintain smooth flow of patients to the Doctor and staff throughout appointment.
• Ensure patients are comfortable with office procedures during appointment.
• Learn to use pretest equipment to perform a range of visual screenings.
• Conduct contact lens training for applicable patients.
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team to provide seamless patient experience.
