Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking an Optical Consultant to support eye care teams and educate patients about frames, lenses, and lens treatments. You will help with smooth patient handoffs, authorize and explain insurance benefits, and ensure accurate prescription entry in the EHR and ALE systems.

In this on-site role in Rhode Island, you’ll build rapport, stay current on products, and collaborate with technicians and clinicians to deliver personalized eye care and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience as an Optician preferred.
• HIPAA experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Windows.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses.
• Educate patients on insurance, warranties and coverage.
• Enter prescription information into the EHR and ALE system.
• Coordinate with technicians and doctors to fulfill orders.
• Provide exceptional patient care and education.
