Job summary

Mercy nurses in the vAcute program provide round-the-clock care coordination and education, operating within a patient-centered, collaborative team at Mercy. RNs ensure ED handoffs, scheduling, and comprehensive support for patients in intensive care coordination across the care continuum.

The role requires an RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure, 2–3 years in Med Surg/ED/CCU, and BLS certification with possible specialty certifications such as ACLS or PALS depending on unit

Qualifications

• Graduate from a school of nursing (AD, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• 2–3 years of recent experience in Med Surg, ED, or Critical Care.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required per unit.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a 24/7 point of contact for ED handoffs and care transitions.
• Facilitate scheduling and support patients in Mercy’s Intense Care Coordination program across the care continuum.
• Provide education and care coordination in the vAcute program.
