Responsibilities

• Provide virtual patient companion services to patients across the United States from our Phoenix AZ Virtual Hospital, located at 3033 N. 3rd Avenue.
• Monitor patients identified as high risk for falls, elopement, substance use, disorientation, or other safety concerns across 140+ hospitals in 21 states.
• Communicate effectively with patients who may be emotional, stressed, or in pain, maintaining calm and efficiency under stress.
• Utilize live streaming video and two-way communication devices to observe and monitor patients, recognizing emergency and non-emergency behavioral changes.
• Report and escalate concerns appropriately to onsite staff to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Document observations and actions accurately and timely using the IRIS system.

Qualifications

Required

• High School diploma or equivalent and 3 years of recent patient care experience OR completion of fundamentals of nursing and clinical practice in an RN program.

Preferred

• Current certification or license such as Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, or enrollment in a healthcare program.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

• Ability to learn and operate streaming video monitoring equipment and hospital systems.
• Strong observational and communication skills to identify behavioral changes and coordinate with healthcare staff.
• Ability to follow protocols, document actions, and troubleshoot basic technical issues.
• Effective relationship-building skills and adherence to safety and confidentiality protocols.
