Job summary

Lines for Life is seeking a Remote Crisis Intervention Specialist to respond to crisis contacts with compassion across multiple lines. Training includes extensive crisis work and 5 weeks of paid onboarding starting January 11, 2027, with a remote, home-office setup.

The role requires flexibility for evenings and weekends across a 24/7 operation, including Oregon-based differential pay. You will document interactions in an electronic health record, coordinate follow-up calls, and support crisis

Qualifications

• Strong empathy, communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Able to handle high levels of stress.
• Proficient in web-based environment and multi-line phone system.
• Understanding of mental health assessment terminology.

Responsibilities

• Answer crisis helplines with compassion in accordance with training.
• Document crisis contacts in an electronic health record system.
• Place follow-up calls to crisis contacts as scheduled.
• Assist with placing rescue calls when needed.
• Triage crisis contacts and collaborate with coworkers to manage crisis contact flow.
• Complete mandatory trainings and stay up to date on crisis intervention tools and techniques.
• Communicate with peers and supervisors via phone and/or chat.
• Perform administrative and organizational tasks as needed.
