Job summary

VIP Tires & Service in Gorham, ME is seeking a Service Writer to join our team. You will consult with customers, explain vehicle conditions based on MPI inspections, and help deliver VIP’s high‑quality service experience.

The role focuses on communication, teamwork, and delivering value while supporting the service manager. Ideal candidates have at least one year in automotive service, basic certifications, and a customer‑centric mindset.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in automotive service field.
• Two-year college or technical school program recommended.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence.
• Equipment Safety Certification
• ASE Certification C1 - Service Consultant is required
• ASE Certification P2 - Parts Specialist recommended
• ASE Certification G1 - Maintenance and light repair recommended
• State Inspection License required where applicable

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers and build relationships to educate them about vehicle condition.
• Assist team to deliver a different and better customer experience.
• Follow VIP processes and achieve SAX score targets.
• Complete LMS and vendor training; maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Communicate effectively with the team and participate in meetings.
