Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist
• Experience with veterinary practice management software (Cornerstone, Avimark, ImproMed, eVetPractice, or ezyVet) preferred
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, vaccination protocols, and basic diagnostics
• Proficiency in scheduling, multi-line phones, medical records, and payments
• Proven customer service skills with composure in client relations
• Strong written and verbal communication, active listening, conflict resolution
• Comfortable handling animals of varying sizes and temperaments

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients, verify/update medical records, confirm appointments
• Answer and manage a multi-line phone system for scheduling, refills, records, and information
• Process payments, post charges, explain invoices, schedule follow-ups
• Communicate medical information and care instructions compassionately, including sensitive end-of-life discussions
• Maintain accurate EMR and data entry in PIMS
• Coordinate with veterinarians and staff to relay messages and manage patient flow
• Keep reception area clean and welcoming for a positive client experience
