Job description

Electric City Animal Clinic is a 5 DVM practice located in Anderson, South Carolina, just 20 minutes from Lake Hartwell near Clemson country. Founded in 1972, we are a full-service animal hospital providing exceptional veterinary care for small animals and exotics. We utilize electronic medical records (Cornerstone), with Idexx for lab work and in-house diagnostics, including Sedivue, ultrasound, digital dental x-ray, and DR x-ray.

As a Receptionist, you will:

1. Receive and make calls to schedule appointments.
2. Prioritize multiple tasks calmly and efficiently.
3. Maintain accurate records, including referral documentation and medical histories.
4. Assist clients with instructions, information, invoices, dispense prescriptions, and schedule future visits.
5. Use hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and team members.
6. Manage financial transactions accurately, following all cash and credit procedures, and handle opening and closing procedures.
7. Provide excellent customer service and professional communication.
8. Educate clients on preventive care, health needs, and hospital services to advocate for pets.
9. Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions.
10. Show empathy and respect toward clients and pets.
11. Utilize standard office equipment.
12. Possess knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
13. Be flexible with scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
14. Experience with veterinary software is preferred.
15. Work independently and accept guidance on tasks.
16. Organize and prioritize effectively.
17. Apply critical thinking to solve problems.
18. Communicate clearly, exercise good judgment, and handle stressful situations.
