Bethany Family Pet Clinic has an opening for a full-time Veterinary Receptionist to join our team!

Location: 15166 NW Central Drive Portland, Oregon 97229

Compensation: $17.00 - $19.00 / hour based on experience

Shift Details: Open to FT or PT candidates
FT - four 10 hour shifts, rotating weekends, very flexible scheduling options.

About Us:

Bethany Family Pet Clinic, located in Portland, Oregon, is looking for a dedicated and compassionate veterinary receptionist to join our team. We are proud to be AAHA accredited (since 1999!), Fear Free Certified since 2017, and AAFP Cat-Friendly Practice.

Our nine exam rooms are equipped with our electronic medical record software, AVImark. Several of our doctors have advanced ultrasound training, and one uses endoscopy routinely for foreign body retrieval and biopsies. We also have two doctors certified in acupuncture, offering multi-modal care. We utilize the services of a traveling internist and cardiologist weekly. Our doctors perform a variety of routine and advanced surgeries and dentistry.

Most importantly, we have phenomenal, experienced support staff who are crucial to patient and client care. Our receptionist team is highly valued, and we believe in educating our team beyond just answering phones. We have a close relationship with Portland Community College's CVT program, taking in externs and hosting educational sessions.

Job Summary:

The Receptionist is the first and last contact clients have with the hospital, creating lasting impressions. The ideal candidate will have exceptional client service and communication skills, computer literacy, the ability to handle payments, multi-task, and maintain a friendly and confident attitude in stressful situations. The Receptionist supports veterinarians, technicians, assistants, groomers, and kennel staff in daily patient and client care.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.
• Greet clients and pets by name with a smile and positive attitude.
• Answer phones promptly and professionally, providing basic animal care information and routine procedures.
• Screen and route calls, take messages, and manage medical records.
• Schedule appointments and surgeries, and confirm bookings.
• Document client conversations accurately in medical records.
• Handle billing, explain invoices, and process payments.
• Verify client information and scan documents into records.
• Assist with prescription refills and provide routine care instructions.
• Advise clients on retail products and preventatives.
