Job summary

Petco's Vetco Total Care hospital on Staten Island seeks a friendly Veterinary Hospital Receptionist who will be the first and last face clients see. You will answer the phone, schedule appointments, greet clients and patients by name, and help keep the waiting area orderly.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least one year in a veterinary or customer-facing role, excellent communication, compassion, strong teamwork, and proficiency with phones and computers; familiarity with a Practice

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Must have at least 1 year's experience in veterinary practice or a customer-facing role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be compassionate and professional in emotional situations.
• Exceptional telephone and computer skills are required.
• Must be a team player willing to learn and adapt.
• Preferred: experience using a Practice Management System.

Responsibilities

• Answer the practice phone and route calls.
• Maintain hospital appointment calendar and schedule appointments.
• Greet visitors and notify staff when clients arrive.
• Monitor wait times and accommodate during busy periods or emergencies.
• Assist in training new staff and share knowledge as required.
• Keep waiting area clean and stocked with materials.
