Job summary

Ingersoll Animal Hospital in Des Moines, IA seeks a Patient Care Coordinator to join our busy team. You will answer calls, schedule appointments, assist veterinarians, and manage client communications with a focus on excellent service.

Responsibilities include handling medications, using veterinary software, cash handling, and maintaining a welcoming front desk. Saturday availability and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to type 45 words per minute or more.
• Ability to lift 35+ lbs.
• Customer service experience preferred; veterinary knowledge or experience a plus but not required.
• Must be available Saturdays and vary hours throughout the week.
• Must pass routine background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Answering phone calls.
• Scheduling appointments and managing the appointment scheduler.
• Assisting veterinarians.
• Filling medications and prescription diets (up to 35 lbs).
• Communicating effectively with clients in various situations.
• Using veterinary software to retrieve records and print reports.
• Greeting clients and acting as the face of the clinic.
• Front desk and reception area maintenance.
