Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a Nursing Trainer to lead the development of emergency medicine skills across VEG hospitals. You will coach on the floor, guide peer-led sessions, and build educational tools to elevate care and empower VEGgies to grow their careers.

The role emphasizes tailored training, collaboration with nursing managers, and a commitment to VEG's culture and standards. Travel to regional VEG hospitals and flexible scheduling to fit hospital needs are expected.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma; associate degree in veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician in the state; VTS in ECC or anesthesia a plus.
• Strong knowledge of emergency medicine; ability to teach and mentor.
• Willingness to travel to other VEG hospitals in the region.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to identify individual and team training needs.
• Assess assistants and credentialed technicians through observation and real-time immersion.
• Drive advancement through VEG's Cultivate program.
• Implement VEG training programs and serve as the go-to training lead at your hospital.
• Split your time between on-the-floor mentoring and strategic development.
• Provide tailored, hands-on training for all learning styles and skill levels.
• Organize peer training opportunities and build a strong mentoring culture.
• Collaborate with nursing managers and professional networks to broaden impact.
• Develop and refine training content (presentations, videos, simulations, and assessments).
• Ensure all training aligns with VEG's culture, mission, and emergency standards of care.
• Continually evaluate leveling programs for assistants and technicians.
