Job summary

VEG is seeking a Nursing Trainer to advance the emergency medicine training program across VEG hospitals. You will identify training needs, mentor staff, and develop educational tools, balancing on-floor mentoring with strategic program development.

You will tailor sessions to different learning styles, celebrate milestones, and drive a culture of growth. This role requires travel within the region and a passion for teaching in a fast‑paced veterinary environment.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician in the state (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT).
• VTS in ECC/internal medicine/anesthesia a plus and may affect compensation.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to identify training needs.
• Assess assistants and credentialed technicians through observation.
• Lead VEG's Cultivate program and develop training content.
• Serve as training lead at your hospital and mentor on floor.
• Travel to other VEG hospitals to onboard new veterinarians.

Education

Associate degree in veterinary technology

AVMA-accredited program (preferred)
