Job summary

Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist / Client Care Representative to be the first contact for pet owners in emergencies. You will greet clients, manage check-ins and payments, and coordinate with the veterinary team to support outstanding patient care throughout the visit.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of veterinary client service experience, strong communication skills, and a calm, compassionate demeanor in fast-paced, emotionally charged

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of veterinary client service or receptionist experience.
• Emergency or urgent care experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and patients with empathy, professionalism.
• Manage patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
• Answer questions and address client concerns promptly.
• Provide updates and coordinate communication between clients and staff.
• Process payments, invoices, and point-of-sale transactions accurately.
• Assist with appointment scheduling and specialty referrals.
• Prepare and maintain accurate medical records.
• Explain treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Educate clients regarding medications, preventive care, and ongoing needs.
• Support clients during emotionally challenging situations with compassion.
